Affiliate Disclosure

PlanesNStuff is reader-supported. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links. This page explains what that means and how it affects you (spoiler: it doesn’t cost you anything extra).

What is an affiliate link?

An affiliate link is a special link to a product on another website, such as an online store. If you click one of these links and then buy something, the store may pay us a small commission. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to the store directly.

Amazon Associates

We may participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program (Amazon US, amazon.com) and the Amazon Australia Associates Program (amazon.com.au). These are affiliate advertising programs designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Other affiliate programs

We may also join other affiliate programs from time to time, for example with retailers of drones, RC aircraft, flight sim gear and aviation gifts. The same principles apply to all of them.

How we choose what to recommend

  • We only recommend products we think will genuinely interest aviation enthusiasts.
  • Our gear and gift round-ups are research-based unless we clearly say we have used or tested a product ourselves.
  • Commissions never decide what we write. If we think something isn’t worth your money, we’ll say so.
  • Prices and availability change often, so always check the retailer’s website before you buy.

How you’ll know

Posts that contain affiliate links include a short notice near the top, and affiliate links are marked behind the scenes as sponsored. If you’re ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, assume it might be.

Our own art

Separately from affiliate links, we sell our own original aviation art posters on Etsy, such as the “I’m Not Old, I’m a Classic” biplane poster. When we link to these, we’re linking to our own products, and we earn from any sale. You can see them on our Art Shop page.
